Chapda chatni is a popular condiment or chutney that is made in the tribal region state of Jharkhand. The main ingredients of chapda chatni are dried laal chiti, roasted tomatoes, garlic, ginger, green chilies, mustard oil, and spices such as cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder. These ingredients are blended together to form a thick and spicy chutney.
To make chapda chatni, first roast the tomatoes on an open flame until the skin is charred. Then remove the skin and blend the tomatoes along with garlic, ginger, green chilies, and spices to form a coarse paste. Finally, heat mustard oil in a pan, add the tomato mixture to it, and cook it on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Chapda chatni can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can be served as a dip or a side dish with various Indian snacks or meals.
